Large Loss Claims Handler - Fire / Flood Damage

£30,000 - £40,000 plus £4,800 car allowance

Barker Munro has two vacancies with an established Claims organisation to manage a portfolio of Large Loss claims due to a result in Fire/ Flood or Escape of Water.

The large loss Claims handler will be expected to travel to policyholders’ homes addresses 2 to 3 times a week to assess contents damage, record all loses, value and negotiate claim settlement for contents items. The candidate may also need to arrange and manage alternative accommodation for policyholders. 

Within this role, you will need to control and manage the claims spend, make authorised payments, travel to policyholders’ homes to assess liability, record, value and negotiate claim settlement for contents items and in conjunction with the Buildings Surveyor Team, drive settlement (cash or reinstatement) of the Buildings element of each claim in your control. 

We are seeking applicants with previous experience of working in a property insurance claim related handling role, with a high level understanding of indemnity policies and legal structure and a proven capability of claims negotiation with policyholders and Loss Assessors. Candidates must also have: Full and clean driving licence.
